In case you missed it, a recent issue of the New York Times contained an article describing the results of research HD Moore conducted over a three month period. In short, a large portion of video conferencing equipment is connected to the Internet without a firewall and is configured to automatically answer incoming video calls. This allows a remote intruder to monitor both audio and video information, often with little or no indication to the target.

Continuing Kaspersky Lab's winning streak of top marks in independent evaluations of its security products, in December 2011Kaspersky Mobile Security 9 was awarded the highest grade possible in comparative testing of security solutions for Android-based mobile phones by the independent research organization PC Security Labs (PCSL). Kaspersky Lab's mobile solution earned five stars, together with just two other developers' solutions out of a total of 20.

The Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 consumer product and the Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows corporate solution have both beaten all competing products in two separate independent tests conducted by the reputable testing institution AV-Test.org at the end of December 2011.
